With the end of winter in sight, and the long-awaited summer on its way, many of us living in the Mother City are preparing/dreading the upcoming beach season. Winter has taken its toll on me, both in terms of my tan, as well as my body (no longer bikini ready). Decisions had to be made on what to eat, what to do when “Klapping gym boet”, and how to stay motivated.
So the girlfriend and I started an 8 week challenge to eat and exercise well. She had a specific goal of a certain number of kilos, whereas I had a dilemma. How much should I try to lose, if anything?
With most guys (there are exceptions), we don’t necessarily want to lose weight. Sure we all want to lose some fat, but at the same time we want to build up those muscles impress the chicks hey! So what exactly is my goal?
For me, I have been looking to do a combination of cross-fit type exercises, as well as trying to beat my average speed over 20min on a treadmill. I know it doesn’t seem like the most exciting gym workout in the world, but what workout is? I guess what I could say my goal is, is to become a lot fitter, with the hope that with great fitness, comes great results.
I honestly have no idea if it is going to work, but I took a before photo (very pale and out of shape) and will be comparing that to my after photo around the end of September. I have no clue if any of my working out is going to make any difference, but hey… I should be able to run a lot further. Chicks dig that (and by chicks my mean my girlfriend 🙂 )
